My first Profits

I never thought ebay was such a good platform to earn money. Ever wonder how you can buy goods from ebay at an incredibly low price? Haha I found it!

1st step: secure your target, preferably a brand new item up for bid.

2nd step: create a "fake" item, same descriptions but the starting bid price is $0.99. Make sure you match his/or item duration.

3rd step: bid on your targeted item and wait.

4th step: ask you friend or create another account to bid back your item last minute, make sure no other person wins the bid or you'll be in trouble.

5th step: 99% you'll win your item.

Why? simple maths. The item you're targeting worths $50 starts bid at $10. You create a fake account and most likely, people will be attracted to your ad. Placing a bid for your targeted item at $30 will cause people to be detered(ebay rejects bids lower than the one you offered). Thus, people will only bid at your ad until it reaches $30 when they realize the "real" item is cheaper. However, most of the case, the bid has ended.

Back from Shanghai

I'm back from shanghai expo, have to say that the Expo is good but not the people. Throughout the 3 days I've seen magnificent structures, beautiful pavillions but disappointed by the visitors. 500k daily, thats what the officials said but what it seems to me was that 490k are chinese who are partially well, not very much educated in terms of moral values. You can pretty much see queue cutting very often and most of the time, I find myself trapped in a group of "Aunties" who created noise. On the whole, I still feel Expo is a job well done......correction, relatively good job done.

Expo entrance

Besides the Chinese, Saudi Arabian, Japanese, Korean, German, Taiwan, Indian pavillions, I practically went to all others. Cool right? No, its time wasting and some of these pavillions are lacking contents and decorations.
Australian pavillion is by far one of the best I've seen. It has this super cool 360 degrees rotating screens with a center stage that shows different sculptures changing during the show without us knowing.

Tips on writing a good GP essay

We know the basic structure of PEEL; Point, elaborate, example, link back. But why are we still having low marks? I think I finally got it. GP essay, a typical platform to construct an effective argument that shows maturity and insightfulness. However, many people fail to realize that the problem lies with the misunderstanding of PEEL. It is not enough.

PEEL is the correct method to use, but weighing is also needed, and that can only be effectively achieved through the double PEEL. Teachers say must use PEEL but never say cannot use 2 PEEL in one paragraph. Content should be no problem for most of the students, but it is the structure that often kills one.

Busiest week this year

This week is undisputably the most hectic week for me. Monday came home at 7.30pm from art. Tuesday came home at 10.10pm from family matters. Wednesday came home at 10.10pm from College Day rehearsal. Thurday came home early 1.30pm but too tired, grabbed a 2.5 hrs nap. Friday came home at 9.30pm from College Day rehearsal. Today came home at 9.30pm from College Day.

In short, I have very little time for my hw especially when art unintentionally ate up everything. Besides the 1 hr econs remedial, I have hardly any time for revision of other subjects, ok frankly speaking, NONE.

Healthcare reforms in USA

The recent healthcare bill passed by President Obama directed its main use of taxes and leverages to provide more coverage of healthcare to the American citizens. However, what baffled me is why did some argued to reject the bill.

Healthcare as quoted in the statistics, was the biggest culprit of bankruptcy in America, 62%, the highest in the world apart from East Timor. People had to pay for their healthcare bills and sometimes, if it is not enough, you are forced to fork out everything you have. So, in this case, it seems like the rich are protesting against the taxes they need to pay in order to sustain the policy and the poor will benefit.

First of all, America is complicated. You've got that Wal-Mart asshole standing right in front of your doorstep that puts millions of Americans out of job, you also have the God-Knows-How-Much loans you can lend until the bank bankrupted before you, and now they are arguing that their money should not be spent to save those people?

I know there is definitely some good guys out there who work decent money but for those fucking rich people, I'm just glad they got their asses kicked.

"We should not pass this bill because for the sake of our American citizens in the future......" Just shut up and admit you're money faced.

Is Wal-Mart bad for America? Maybe

Is Wal-Mart the culprit of Recession in America? Not really

During the Econs lecture we saw a video of what is happening in America. Basically, firms are shutting down due to economic competition from foreign firms and Americans working in it are losing jobs. According to the video, Wal-Mart is accused of being the main culprit for inviting these foreign firms in dumping their goods in America.

However, before we justify Wal-Mart's actions of helping the chinese rather than fellow Americans, I think we should understand that it is not Wal-Mart's fault totally. In 2002, China entered WTO and before that, America is already working at a high economic perfomance. Thats the key, high salaries. Due to WTO, China is able to ship and dump millions of under-priced goods in America that forced local industries to be almost out of businees. Firms there no longer can afford the high wages to these workers. Another key to note is Globalization. The opening of the market to foreign firsm means that China allows foreign direct investments and firms in USA started looking for cheaper FOP countries such as China.

We must understand that it is because of China's low wage policy+WTO+Globalization that resulted in today's American situation. Wal-Mart, well we can say they are just a profit-driven firm like all others that are used by the Chinese.

"Phantom of the Opera" Real life edition

I cannot believe this when I saw the picture. It was horrifying. Imagine your face being covered by plaster cloth and you look just like something that jumped out of a horror movie. Phantom of the Opera, this is the first thing that came to my mind.

GP exam is over and I've got mixed feelings. I feel like I have written as best as I can but I seriously got no idea what my results will look like. Probably a just pass? Like for god knows how many times? Or will it be a fail? I guess I'm giving a pyramid 4-1-5 guessing. I've got 1 week break, need to qiong like shit. Revised China Studies today, feels damn confused by the notes. Still got maths and econs. Art, well, I'm real screwed. Coursework is halting for a few weeks but I've only got 1 week to memorize 6 artists.

I will never ask God for fulfilling my wishes anymore, just hope that he is always there to support me from falling into the abyss. I CAN DO IT!

Stepped down with honor

I officially stepped down today from Young Artist Club. Its been a long 8 years and I'm pretty much filled with emotions when I walked out of that wooden door. To think that it was this club that introduced me to the world of arts, opened the door that may be crucial to my survival in the future. But frankly speaking I've got no time. If it wasn't for the packed JC2 academic I would no have found myself grasping for time. Oh well we age everyday and it is impossible for us to stay at the same place forever, walk on O' Mighty.

Polo House

This came out of nowhere. We won the house champion for the 2010 road run. Oh my 天 can you believe it? We kept hearing Byron, Bryon, Byron on the price presentation but who would have expected that we would still win? Polo house for God-knows-how-many consecutive years have we made a complete sweep of any possible house championship. Inter house game, aiyah that one no need to say, we got as many 1st place as we can. House cheering, fun bun we win again, and road run. Polo house may have the ugliest color but I feel honored to be part of it.

And one more thing, this sentence from Mr William Chan motivated me to the max: "MOE will personally write to the university you are applying for, stating that you have completed China Studies in English for 'A' Levels, Only you and no one else." OMG can you believe it? Imagine how useful and powerful it is when UCL or NUS see this letter.

Level of screwedness: 47.9%
Hope of kicking back to JC1: 23.1%

I'm so screwed. It is today that I wonder why did I choose both China Studies AND Art. They are really killing the shit out of me. China Studies Proposal stage is already sickening and then there was Art, a subject that is brain-draining me. I'm almost out of ideas!!!!!! Sleeping at 2-3 am everyday for 2 weeks is hell, I experience it and I know. Art especially, personally I think I suck at it, really. I'm not an abstract person so I can't really think of any good ideas to put on my preperatory boards. I think my main problem is the complexity of my prep works. It sucks serisouly and I swear I will work for as long as it goes until I can get it correct. People say you've got to work on double on things you are not good at so, yeah I guess its another 3-4 weeks of 4hr sleep/day. Thankfully I'm not an OGL if not I'm 99.99% screwed.

Dear Lord, I sincerely hope that things will change for the better, Amen

You may have heard of Mozart, well um I'm Xiao'zart ^ ^ My second masterpiece is out. Its called the "Melody of Dondurma" specially catered for saxophones. The piece is actually quite easy. Should be able to side-read for anyone higher than grade 2-3

I got my inspiration from Monster Hunter 2G and I think I'm amazed by myself (I'm not boasting OKay~~) that I actually done it. I actually composed a music by myself (with some references) but this piece is totally different from "You Raise Me Up" where I get to refer to the actual music . Oooooo ^ ^ It really gives me motivation to create more pieces. "Titanic" is already on the way and I'm planning for another 2 pieces "Rise to the Summit" and "Jurassic Park". Anyone who wants my scores just drop me a message.

Oh and I can transpose the score to cater for any instruments so yeah ^ ^

Why Science may not be so "Scientific"

I think everyone's got some sort of destination that we have to reach sometime in our life. Its just how are we going to reach it. Yesterday's GP lecture knocked some questions into my mind. Is it possible to have impossible in our life? We are always living in a world where proof is needed to justify everything. But what if there are things which defy Science? What we must know is that we defined Science, but Science not neccessarily defines our world. There are too many unpredictables that Science is not able to explain. Science is just a language that humans use to explain some of our wonders.

Why Economics is no longer so economy

I've studied H2 Economics for quite a while now and I have to admit it was much harder than I thought. The concepts are more than meets the eye. But one thing I do realize is that Economics have become more and more unpredictable. We should know that our economy is fragile and there are surprises here and there. Nobody expected Lehman Brothers to shut down and nobody expected the world to be engulfed in another economic hurricane.

What I'm trying to say is that we should continue studying Economics but, we should not go so much by the books anymore. our economy has started to change and one day you may be prospering and who knows, you'll go bankrupt the very next month or year? There's no such thing as memorizing Economic graphs or terms. You have to know the concepts and when needed, you know exactly what to change to keep your company alive.

Why are we worrying so much about health???

I've thought about this since long ago and I finally realized something. In this world, we are getting too worried about getting killed from cancer or refrain from eating something that is harmful to our lives. However, how many people actually realized that there are so many things that can kill you even before you are awake? Fall-out-of-bed, getting rammed by a cab with faulty brakes. So Why are we still worrying about these small things?

Humans must realize that the very act of living in this world is risky. Its unavoidable. So stop saying about turning in early because it increases the chances of going blind or get cancer when you are old. Humans are not dieties, we will eventually die some day! A person who quits smoking dies earlier than someone who kept smoking, this is a fact. Science can sometimes shock people.

It's not that I diagree that people should not care about their health but they must understand that there are other risks that requires more priorities. Guys, please comment on my post thanks.

School's starting tmoro and I've got some kind of screwed up feeling. This is gonna be our last academic year before we can start calling ourselves adults. I hope for a driving lisence soon!!!!! I think if I don't drive a car for at least 10 years in my life, I would have denied that I came to Earth. Just joking.

I was a free-thinker but I decided to sort of "follow the crowd" and I think I'm pretty much believing in god now, dunno why but always feels that someone is watching over you from somewhere. Well, I hope that at least I can get his blessing and lead a "not so tiring" life. I hope that somewhere sometime, I'll get the fruits of my life. Hope so......
