Pride and Prejudice

No, I am not writing a famous novel. It is just the smuggness I am getting whenever i was called for duty. I am the Company Orderly Sergeant and today is a public holiday. It could be because of my experience in doing such duties and the amount of time I spent here that I didn't really feel depressed and devastated when i found out my duty. No, I would never get into such state.

Always taking pride in the stuffs that I do in my life, serving a country which I have no blood connection but decided to since it has given me education and a life. Mind you there is a difference between happiness and living a good life. I would prefer whichever that gives me peace and the goals that I want to achieve in my life.

As much as I would like to, I hope to get back whatever that I sacrificed for serving duties given by the army and my destiny. Sadly, I am matured to give myself a knock in my head, telling my heart that I have to endure such unfortunate times in my life which I have and will always be experiencing like all other people. Life is formless, it is the chance that gives people the advantage and disadvantage. Like I have said earlier, there is no such thing as luck. Your future is crafted by your own hands. It is reasonable and foolish to complain about life since it will do nothing but ruin plans and time further.

Have a nice view of life.

Disaster

Half a year without bowling and what is the result? Bad games? I can absolutely assure you that it is much worse than that. During the first frame of the first game, the ball flew up barely hitting the alley ceiling before thundering a blow onto the alley floor, creating a sound which draws the attention of almost everyone at the location at that time. Embarrassing? Oh no, it is much worse than anything from farting at a crowded venue or peeing with doors opened. Seriously, what do you expect me to do? I simply rubbed more dry powder and pretend that it is an accident due to over friction from my thumb. That pretty much concluded my disastrous week.

Lands of Mirage

Now, when I started painting I didn't expect to accomplish any works which would be referred as creations of a mad artist. Lest expected, you get addicted to the abyss of endless creation which is pretty much what the writer of this post is currently experiencing. Pleasantly however, he likes the smell; aroma of linseed oil (or odour for those who are not genetically fated with art) fragrancing the room. To be exact, time must wind back 7 weeks before my campaign begun. A campaign to facade an artist who pursued color creativity to someone adamant on the usage of accurate color, pardon me if I wouldn't classify it as 'realistic'. So, these are the works:

Dawn of the horizon
Eternal Green
Sakura

Due to the internet security in a typical Singapore army camp, downloading and uploading of pictures are not recommended as that would slap you with a confinement and/or detention.

3rd Sergeant 3SG Washington Eric Xiao

A day worthy of remembering in my life. Started out as an online posting notice given by the richest company in Singapore, SAF. The doorway to becoming a commander pounded on a heart that died long ago, leaving only an idea that condemned me to become an ordinary man in the army in the near future. Not anymore, as the words to entering SISPEC becomes a reality, officially.

6 months to receiving a rank with 3 arrows on it, the American version looks better and worth more, seriously. Not only is the cash reward tempting, but the prospect of being able to command corporals and privates under you is real exciting to imagine.

3 more days to dragging my duffel bag and carrying that irritating field pack on my sweaty back, uncomfortable and annoying it will be. They say SISPEC is more slacking than OCS, well I hope so, it must be worth the slacking if we can only obtain a Sergeants rank. Don't get it wrong, theres no compromising of what we must do, discipline or physical vice versa. Do it, but don't overdo because it's not worth it.

Something 'bout love

The pure sense of a guy wanting a girl to listen to what he wants, giving nothing but suffocation of dates and pestering through messages and calls is what I regard as childish and imbecile. For the past 5 weeks, I have understood that and I am grateful.

A relationship is about 2 person understanding each other, know what they want and not trying your best to influence how caring and nice you are. It just shows how sick you are as someone trying to adore an opposite sex. A mature girl needs to be respected, not by showing how loyal you are to her, or not by showing what you can do for her, it happens only in fairytales and rubbish Korean dramas. Someone who really likes the other person will know when to give her space to think and do her own things and not trying to lock her to you. On a casual note, you are not giving her freedom. On a serious note, it isn't exactly a legal thing to do, well if things really gets screwed up.

Don't go around thinking that as long as you are giving the best effort you can a relationship will go smoothly, it doesn't, in fact, it is probably a rigged and immature thought that arises from someone who has no soul, who does not understand himself. You have to have the matching personalities to get together, otherwise through the ravage of time you will feel despair, hopeless and you will have to kill yourself. Blame fate for not giving you that, it's life.

Oh one last thing, the only thing someone who is persistant over someone whom he likes but otherwise around gives nothing but despair and hatred to the person. Know when to stop to avoid becoming a clown, losing a ticket to becoming a good friend in the long future.
